Representatives of the Office of the Mayor as well as the Director of the D.C. Department of Transportation looked on as a rainbow crosswalk was installed at 17th and P Streets, NW on Thursday. The design of the art installation comes from Daniel Quasar’s Progress Flag — an updated design of the rainbow flag incorporating the representation of transgender pride and LGBTQ people of color.
